No RUST since 1971 (14.8.2011)

I apply with a soaked shop cloth after cleaning or hunting and no rust since 1971. Rig does not get on you and all your equipment, just a light film on the metal you want protected. I keep my shop cloth in a zip lock bag.

It also works well in a pinch as a lubricant for firearms and field gear, and as a medium for removing rust with fine steel wool.

I have used Rig on all of my firearms since I bought my first new gun, a Remington 1100, back in 1984. This particular gun looks just as new as it did in 1984. In 34 years of using Rig I have never had even a spec of rust on my firearms.

I use RIG in my Remington 742 Woodsmaster 30-06 in the cam bolt. Xcellent high pressure grease for the bolt never had a jam or FTF I've been using it for 35 years. RIG RULES.

Great For An AR-15 (16.3.2012)

I purchased this just on a hunch... instead of bearing grease of course. LOL Now i use it on every firearm I own.It makes my XDM's slide operate as if it was on ice. Great Product

The new tube is great. Much easier to use than the can. Same as the old Silencio formula!

Great for long term storage (17.4.2010)

I have been using RIG for about 20 years and it absolutely the best for long term storage. All my firearms that are safe queens get this stuff and I have added extra protection with a dehumidifier, even though I never needed it.

This stuff is very thick and coats metal very well. A lot will really go a long way. It can be very messy applying and removing, but what do you expect with a heavy grease. This is cosmoline on steroids, well not really, but probably the same stuff.

A must buy for areas high in humidity and for safe queens.

I'm one of those guys allways looking for the absolute best of everything, top of the line, strongest, best of the best, an extremest product. There is nothing else out there that does quite what this product does, on any level even comparible. Yes, there are other " rust preventative " products out there that work just fine - if you want to break down your gun and clean it once a month or so. This is entirely different on another scale. I live neare the ocean, in a corosive environment - if I don't get stainless steel exhaust systems for my car they rot out after 3 years - that corosive an environment.I was sick of cleaning my guns, oiling them, and then putting them away, only to check on them a month latter - to find them covered in rust [*]. Someone reccomended this product to me. Clean your gun well, and apply a thin film to the gun, and it will store rust free - practically forever. Unlike thin oils - this is a grease - it-s not going to evaporate, thin out, loose potentcy. It just sticks like - well - heavy grease. Yes, you do have to wipe the gun down well after storage to get all of the grease off, but who cares, when you consider the ammount of time you've saved by not having to pamper your guns on a weekly / monthly basis. Litterally clean it, grease it with Rig, then put it away for 10 months until next hunting season, safe and secure in the knowledge that you'll find it in the same condition you put it away 10 months ago. A trully " unique" product - No equalls, substitutes, comparisons, competitors. Those in the know - use this product - get the sheepskin rag to go with it.

I'm glad to see that you can still find RIG grease. I was running low and didn't think I would find a grease to compare to RIG's ability to protect a firearm for short and long term storage. Back in the 1950's my Dad worked at [...] (one of PA's big hardware/gunstores) and he said the staff there would cover their overstock firearms with RIG grease and then wrap with wax paper. Months or even years later unwrap, wipe down and the gun looked as good as the day it was made. Great product, you will not be disappointed. All my firearms are protected with RIG grease!
