This is not a good product (10.8.2012)

I just got this unit and it doesn't work. The battery was shipped loose and no instruction about installation. I tried both possible ways: no light. I called tech support but they were not familiar with the product. I can't recommend it and will be returning it.

I use one of these at my gun shop. It's cheap and it works. The body is aluminum and seems durable. The battery that came with it was dead but other than that it's ok.

Take the clear cellophane off the battery before using. This is an outstanding quality made borelight. Well worth the money.

It could be that a person not looking at the battery might believe it's dead but if you look closely, you'll see the battery is covered entirely with clear plastic. Probably to promote long storage life before shipment. When I first put mine together, it didn't work. Upon close examination of the battery, I saw it was sealed. This is an outstanding bore light and well worth the money.

Decent bore light (11.7.2014)

This is a good value bore light. The fiber optic attachment will not fit a .22 bore. Also, it is very bright, so when used in a handgun, it may be too bright because your eye is very close to the light due to the shorter barrel nature of a handgun.
