Lock-n-Load single stage (2.7.2013)

The quick change bushings make this my choice for reloading multiple calibers of pistol and rifle cartridges. Very convenient, but . . .

Take care to tool-tighten the quick change bushing/die into the press, else they loosen during use. Take care to make sure that the face of the shell holder makes flush contact with face of the sizing die WITH BRASS IN THE DIE. If you adjust the die without brass in place, then, even tool tightened, the quick change bushing has a few thousandth's inch of vertical movement in the press. With larger caliber rifle brass, the headspace will be inconsistent and sometimes insufficient for bolt actions rifles with tight chambers. Using a good case length gage after sizing brass in this press is strongly advised. Probably good advice with any press (I only have 4 years experience with this press, no others)

The auto primer feeder attachment is more trouble than it is worth and more than occasionally drops primers without constant, careful re-adjustment. I would recommend use of a hand held primer tool or better, manual insertion of primers for better accuracy. The ram's action sufficiently smooth that the proper seating of primers can be easily felt when using the press to seat primers. Likewise, the primer catcher for spent primers will spill more than a few primers especially if the de-cap pin is spring loaded and the spent primer is tight.

A good press for versatility reloading multiple calibers on one single stage press. There are probably better choices for those who need critical accuracy for rifle cartridges, especially larger calibers.
