Hard to install (8.11.2009)

For such a simple part, this was NOT easy to put in. Out of the box this plastic pin would not fit in my new 10/22. I had to lightly sand the outside diameter, put it in my freezer for an hour, then very carefully pound it in with a hammer. There must be better fitting pins out there...

buffer pin (10.2.2013)

Takes the nasty metal clank out of the action, mine went in easy, took maybe 30 seconds to install after I took the stock off.

Big Improvement Over Stock (12.3.2017)

It takes away the clank that it makes with the OEM one. Also seems to make it vibrates less. Easy to install.

Less Noise (15.10.2017)

We all know the metal on metal sound when the bolt cycles. This eliminates a lot of that sound. I just installed this into my second 10/22. The installation was a little tight, but a little oil helped.

Great product...if it fit! (7.1.2018)

I was very excited to install this rear buffer pin into my 10/22 Takedown project rifle but the rubber pin was too large. I tried 2 different types of gun lube, and 1.5 hours of my gun smithing skills to try and insert this pin, but it would literally not fit despite my best efforts. Maybe it fits better in older model 10/22's? I am going to try a different one, as this will drastically decrease the clanking sound on the 10/22-specifically a suppressed one.

Very difficult install (29.3.2018)

This thing is very, very difficult to install. I had read about the "fitting" required by some but didn't think it would consume more than an hour of fiddling. I have not tried putting it in the freezer yet, but that should not be necessary. A little rounding of the edges and perhaps a little grease, but even that didn't help. I hope this not what I can expect from Volquartsen products in the future.
